I previously served as the Northeast Director for U.S. Senator Mike Rounds. The experience working for a US Senator who serves on the influential Banking Committee has only expanded my interaction with the financial industry, community bankers, and lenders. I’ve seen first-hand from my travels and meetings the consequences federal legislation can have on these South Dakota family-owned banks.

I have my Master’s Degree in Intelligence and Global Security Studies from Point Park University and have a B.S. in Public Safety (Emergency Management). In my spare time, I am the public address announcer for Huron Tiger Basketball and other sporting activities. I enjoy watching Minnesota Twin's baseball, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time training in martial arts.

Like so many, I've made mistakes in my life and have learned from them as much or more than the successes I've had. It's important to me to be an example to those who have hit hard times, to show that you can overcome adversity and achieve success in life. It takes hard work, understanding how to improve your weaknesses and being open to learning how to make positive changes. During our campaign, you’ll hear us talk about successes, but don’t be surprised if I mention some of my personal failures. Successful people fail all of the time, the key is that they keep getting back up and never stop learning and improving. I believe in helping lift people up, it will be an honor to share this message during the campaign.

At the end of the day I am an optimistic person, our best days can still be ahead of us if we work together. No matter a person's belief system or political affiliation, my goal is to be kind and respectful, we are all in this together. If you are tired of negative politics and division we see in our state and nation, we’re on the same page! We will run a positive campaign, we don't need to attack people and play “gutter” politics to win this race.  It’s okay to disagree, but it’s not okay to build division by “pitting” people against each other because of their differences. During this campaign we will never take the people or this process for granted. Winning and sharing a positive view takes hard work and commitment to the people.
